20x16 oil on linen. Como zoo and conservatory in St. Paul MN is an artist's dream. There is inspiration everywhere you look. This beautiful water garden captivated me with its jewel tone colors. I knew as I was painting it that whatever I called this piece needed to reference the lily pads. Peridot is one of the few gemstones that is found only in one color, and that color happens to be the perfect match.
